Security & Safety at
Christina Kent ECC

Christina Kent ECC has policies and procedures in place to ensure that your child’s safety comes first. We take our responsibility for securing our buildings and playgrounds seriously and monitor and/or update our security measures regularly. Below are some of our key policies and procedures that are used to maintain the safety of children in our care, families, and our staff. We ask that you review each section below and become part of our security team. Your eyes, ears and adherence to security measures is essential in keeping our campuses safe.

Fob System for Entrance

Christina Kent ECC has a front door security system that remains locked 24 hours a day. Families
and authorized personnel will be provided a FOB that is unique to them. We ask that you do not share your personal entrance FOB with anyone. We ask that you do not allow anyone to follow you into the building. All visitors are required to ring the doorbell.

Family Participation

To maintain a safe and secure environment, we rely on the partnership of our families. This includes using your key fob for entry, not holding doors open for others, communicating suspicious activity, and ensuring that only authorized individuals are listed for pick-up. These simple steps make a meaningful difference in keeping our center safe.

  • Medication Administration

  • Online trainings

Monthly Emergency Preparedness Drills

Our team conducts monthly emergency preparedness drills to maintain a high level of readiness. These drills help ensure staff can respond quickly and effectively, while children participate in a way that is gentle, predictable, and appropriate for their age.

Identification Verification for Authorized Pick-Up

To keep our children safe, we verify the identity of all authorized pick-up individuals. Anyone picking up may be asked to show a valid photo ID, especially if they are new to our team. We appreciate your understanding as we prioritize each child’s safety.

Low Ratio & Class Sizes

We intentionally keep our class sizes small and our ratios low so every child is seen, supported, and safe. With additional staff in each classroom, we’re able to provide close supervision, quick response, and meaningful connections throughout the day.

Camera Monitoring in Classrooms

Our center is equipped with classroom video monitoring systems to support safety, supervision, and quality assurance. Footage is used internally to ensure consistent care, support staff, and maintain a secure environment, with a strong commitment to privacy and confidentiality.

Rave Panic Button App

Our team is equipped with the Rave Panic Button, an emergency response system that allows staff to quickly and directly connect with first responders and center leadership if needed. This supports a fast, coordinated response in any situation.
