Christina Kent (CK) is a private, non-profit childcare and educational program founded by Christina Kent and the Woman’s Club of Albuquerque in 1919. CK is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. Located in downtown Albuquerque, CK provides the children with two hot meals a day and an afternoon snack through the assistance of the USDA, Child and Adult Care Food Program. The meals served at CK give our young children the opportunity to eat while sitting at a table with their friends and teachers. This provides opportunities to build social relationships and language skills at the same time.
You can support the mission of Christina Kent, whose goal is “To serve the children of low-income working families with quality childcare, early education, and nutritional services in a safe, nurturing environment.” Currently, 90% of our enrolled families meet the poverty guidelines, and 53% are single parent families. It costs approximately $6,640 for one child to attend Christina Kent for one year. To serve those who need us most, we must continue to provide low cost pricing options to low-income families. It takes donations to make this mission a reality for 65 Albuquerque children and their families, and with your help it can happen.
