Tennis Tournament Re-Cap

To the wonderful players, spectators, staff, and volunteers of Christina Kent and our 2009 tennis tournament fundraiser:

We want to send a HUGE THANK YOU for participating in our annual fundraiser for Christina Kent Early Childhood Center. We couldn’t have done it without each one of you. We had 162 tennis players in this year’s tournament, and with the weather cooperating, it made for a really enjoyable weekend. This was our first year with mixed doubles, and we plan to keep it around for next year’s tournament. The fast serve contest, Coach Roy Cañada’s clinic, and the kid’s program provided fun tennis activities beyond tournament play.

The silent auction offered some fabulous merchandise, services, and trips, so the frenzied bidding at the close of the auction helped make it a financial success. The addition of some raffle items added festivity to the weekend and made it possible for those on a budget to participate as well. All in all, we raised around $18,000. These monies will be spent on the ever-rising operating costs felt throughout the non-profit world.

We would like to invite you to help us make our event even better next year. You can:

• Spread the word about the tournament
• Invite your friends to play
• Use your contacts to help us obtain player prizes and silent auction items
• Volunteer your time prior to, during, and /or after the 2010 event

• Use your contacts to help us find corporate sponsors and in-kind supporters
